Innovation

ANVAR institute (French National Agency for the Promotion of Research Work) recognised the innovative nature of SNDC products, processes and techniques. SNDC was awarded the title of “Innovative Business”. SNDC is thus eligible under the “Fonds Communs de Placement dans l'Innovation” (FCPI - Innovation Mutual Funds).

 

Supported by ANVAR, the Rooftop Air Conditioner is a patented design, the culmination of three years of research and development. SNDC customers can thus benefit from an innovation that is particularly well suited to agricultural machinery; this has been warmly welcomed by manufacturers of viticulture machinery.

 

The Rooftop Air Conditioner is a monobloc unit containing all the air-conditioning and air treatment functions plus other operator-related functions:

 

  • heating, air-conditioning, filtration, pressurisation, ventilation, air distribution

  • Radio, loudspeakers, ceiling light, headlights, windscreen wipers, etc

The Rooftop Air Conditioner has been designed to satisfy the comfort expectations of the end customer and the economical and technical requirements of the manufacturer.

Research and development has ensured progress in the following fields:

 

  • Thermal and Acoustic Comfort for the operator 

     

  • Operator protection against sprayed toxic products

Work on thermal comfort enabled to optimised the distribution and regularity of air diffusion. Tests on the Rooftop Air Conditioner under the most severe conditions confirmed the rapidity of temperature ramp-up in the cabin, as well as defrosting and demisting efficiency.

Particular attention has also been paid to Acoustic Comfort.

 

An important part of our work involved Pressurisation and the realization of filters to a high level of operator protection towards a toxic environment, for example, the spraying of pesticides, whilst maintaining a renewal high air of the cabin.

 

Regarding the unit integration, the most recent work was focused on reducing the Rooftop Air Conditioner thickness, resulting on creating a less than 12cm high unit.

 

The Rooftop Air Conditioner concept meets the new comfort and safety standards:

 

  • ISO 14269: Test methods and criteria to assess the operator enclosure environment in tractors and self-propelled machines for agriculture and forestry

     

  • NFU 03-24: Efficiency of cabin filtration regarding dust and pesticides
